Re: No call stack information when importing from memory dum

Ok, essentially I was looking at memory allocation for active call stacks. We have a number of threads hanging forever in some 3rd party DLL method and we wanted to know what was the data causing this hang. Logging the data on every call would have created huge amount of data since we don't know the...

Re: No call stack information when importing from memory dum

Essentially what I was looking for is a way to search for string allocations made by a given method.

No call stack information when importing from memory dump

Why does the memory profiler does not show call stack when importing a memory dump? I can see call stack information using windbg so I wonder if I do something wrong when importing the memory dump.

Held Bytes in Type Instance Details screen

Hi,
I thought that held bytes was the sum of live instance itself + children held bytes. I have an object taking 848 bytes but one child alone takes 4960 bytes so how the parent can be 848?

<unknown> namespace

Hi, In the overview page, I am displaying all types by hierarchy. I have <unknown> taking over 1/3 of my memory and is #1 in terms of live instances. Obviously I would like to determine what is creating those instances and why it is taking so much memory. I am using a .Net 4.5 IIS memory dump that w...

Re: Field Value truncated for large string

Thanks for you answer. Still new to the tool. I have been looking the docs but could not find. What would be great is an export content function to dump byte[] or string to file. I have some very large string in memory and I am afraid if I set this option too high a value that it will slow down the ...

Field Value truncated for large string

The field value for a string gets truncated if it is too long. Is there a way to get the entire value to clipboard or file? I am using the dump import.

Thanks,
