Re: NmpCore fails to start

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have confirmed that there is an issue when attaching to a process when NmpCore is running as an administrator. Unfortunately we have not yet been able to reproduce this in our development environment. We are investigating this further and will hopefully come up...

Re: Is not installed MemProfilerInstaller5_5_66

I'm sorry for not getting back to you. I did reply last week, but for some reason the reply failed and disappeared. The signature validation is performed by the Visual Studio installer and we have not yet found a good solution on how to avoid it. Installing the integration package probably requires ...

Re: Is not installed MemProfilerInstaller5_5_66

We're looking into this issue and will hopefully come up with a solution. It is problematic to install Visual Studio extensions without an internet connection (see links below). It is possible that some security or policy settings must be changed on your machine for the installation to work. We have...

Re: Is not installed MemProfilerInstaller5_5_66

The problem seems to be that you don't have an Internet connection. Visual Studio tries to validate that the signature is correct and has not been revoked. This validation requires an Internet connection and the installation fails if it cannot be validated. We will check whether there's a possibilit...

Re: Profiling running Unity process

As long as the Unity application is running under the .NET runtime, e.g. as a Universal Windows App under .NET Core, then you should be able to attach to the process, or to profile the process using File->Profile Windows App. You must make sure that you don't use the IL2CPP script runner or Mono, as...

Re: Filtering Gen 0 / 1 / 2 heaps when analysing dump file

Now there's a build of .NET Memory Profiler available that correctly identifies the generation of instances when importing a memory dump. It has not yet been officially released, but you can download it and test it using the link below. https://cdn.memprofiler.com/download/MemProfilerInstaller5_5_67...

Re: Filtering Gen 0 / 1 / 2 heaps when analysing dump file

Instance generations are identified when importing memory dumps (e.g. when presenting the native memory information). However, as you have noticed this information does not show up in the gen #0, and gen #1 filters (which it should). We're currently looking in to this and will hopefully release a fi...

Re: Secuirty Risk Found in the Installer version 5.5

What type of security risk does your antivirus detect the installer as? Version 5.564 was released just a few days ago, so maybe it is classified as dangerous because it’s new and does not have many downloads yet? We checked the installer with VirusTotal and 63 out of 64 antivirus tools classified i...

Re: Uninstall fails (0x80070001 Incorrect function) Version

The error message indicates that the uninstaller has failed to uninstall the Visual Studio integration package for some reason. Can you try to manually uninstall the integration package by performing the following steps? Open an administrative command prompt for the latest version of Visual Studio i...

Re: Cannot add Ignore analysis issue

Thanks for reporting this issue. It's a bug that was introduced in version 5.5. We have fixed it now and will soon release a maintenance build of .NET Memory Profiler containing the fix. Most likely it will be released during next week.

Re: Gen #2 instances question

The number of gen #2 instances reflects the number of instances that have survived a gen #0 and gen #1 collection, but are still reachable from a root. So they are not eligible for garbage collection. Note that when you collect a full snapshot in the profiler, the profiler performs several full GCs ...

Re: Memory Leak detection

It's impossible to determine whether there's a memory leak in your application based on the screenshot you provided. It just shows that there are one additional instance of AnimationClock[] and one additional instance of AnimationLayer[]. It depends on what you have done between the snapshots, but I...

Re: Starting remote profiling not working

The currently released version of NmpCore has a bug which we fixed a few days ago. NmpCore does not always work correctly when running on a machine where the full .NET Memory Profiler is installed. Do you have .NET Memory Profiler installed on the machine where you test NmpCore? If you have, then I ...

Re: IIS Express x64 on VS2015

You are correct, .NET Memory Profiler only uses the default IIS Express config file. It should definitely use the one created by Visual Studio 2015 instead. We will soon release a maintenance release of version 5.0, and will include a fix for this issue. In version 5.5 we will also include the possi...
