Response file support broken?

Post by chai » Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:24 pm

I'm trying to use the response file option with the NetMemProfiler[console].exe application of build 3.5. As given in the documentation, I have used the following commandline:

Code: Select all

    D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\Profiler>"C:\Program Files\SciTech\NetMemProfiler3\NetMemProfilerConsole.exe" @profiler.rsp
Here, the profiler.rsp file is available in the current folder, which is D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\Profiler. However, running this is making the profiler simply print out the profiler's commandline options. Why is it not reading the response file and executing the application?

In case it helps, here're the contents of the rsp file:

Code: Select all

#/autocollect:3
/noui
#/as
/dbg
/sfl:D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\Profiler
/sessionfile:"MemoryGuineapig %DATE% - %TIME%.prfsession"
/sessionprompt-
/memleakprompt-
/memleakcollect+
/lowimpactprofiling+

D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\bin\Release\MemGuineaPig.exe
Is it something to do with the folders and their relative paths here?

It seems like the current version of the profiler ignores unnamed commands in the response file. We will fix this soon, but in the meantime you can specify the program to profile using the "/program" (or "/p") command. E.g. use the following response file:

Code: Select all

#/autocollect:3
/noui
#/as
/dbg
/sfl:D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\Profiler
/sessionfile:"MemoryGuineapig %DATE% - %TIME%.prfsession"
/sessionprompt-
/memleakprompt-
/memleakcollect+
/lowimpactprofiling+

/program:D:\TrialBase\MemGuineaPig\bin\Release\MemGuineaPig.exe
