Memory Profiler 3.1 on WinXP 64

Post by Flack » Thu Apr 29, 2010 10:27 pm

Hey guys,
I installed memory profiler ver. 3.1.283.0 and when I try starting the profiler I get the following error:

DllNotFoundException(StackHash=0x5bbe0dbf) V3.1.283.0
Report time: 2010-04-29 18:12:31.737
Stacktrace:
at SciTech.NetMemProfiler.NetMemProfiler.InitializeProfiler(Int64& evaluationEnd)
at SciTech.NetMemProfiler.NetMemProfiler.Main(String[] args)

Message=Unable to load DLL 'ProfilerCallBack': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
TypeName=
Data=System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal

OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2
Framework version: 2.0.50727.3603

The log just shows:
2010-04-29 18:12:31.6752|1|INFO|SciTech.NetMemProfiler.ProfilerSettings|Getting native base path
2010-04-29 18:12:31.7064|1|INFO|SciTech.NetMemProfiler.ProfilerSettings|Returning native base path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SciTech\NetMemProfiler3\64Bit

Does this version work on XP 64? Also, I don't see the C:\Program Files (x86)\SciTech\NetMemProfiler3\64Bit directory. There is no 64Bit dir.

Any ideas?

.NET Memory Profiler 3.1 is supposed to work with WinXP 64bit. From your description it seems like there is something wrong with the installation. Unless you changed the default installation folder, the ProfilerCallback DLL should be located in "C:\Program Files\SciTech\NetMemProfiler3\64Bit" and not "C:\Program Files (x86)\SciTech\NetMemProfiler3\64Bit". Can you try to reinstall the software and see if it works better? If possible, I recommend that you download the latest version(3.5.144) from http://memprofiler.com/download.aspx, before installing the software again. If you still have a problem with the latest release, please contact us again.
