I read this post http://memprofiler.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 3775#p5593
And followed the instruction but it does not help a lot
as I get: "Root path: [<<][<] 1 of 3228 [>][>>][Show details]"
I can browse all these ok but they are in an apparently random order
I guess what I am interested in a list of classes on that are part of a root path sorted by owned number of strings
is some thing like that possible?

If you have followed the instructions in the post you linked, then the root paths are sorted by "New live instances". They are not in random order. So the first root path is keeping the most new instances alive. Note that the root paths are just the shortest root paths for each instance. There might be other longer root paths that also keep the instances alive. To get more detailed information about a specific root path, click the "Show details" button.
At the moment it is not possible to get a list of types that are part of a root path. We will investigate how this could be implemented and whether it will actually make it more convenient to identify how memory is used.
