Real-time data when attaching to process - possible?

Post by KaiDaguerre » Wed Nov 06, 2013 2:58 pm

Hi.

When I attach to a process, the "show real-time data" button is disabled. Is it not possible to view real time data when attached to a process?

Cheers,
Kai

Unfortunately it is not possible to collect real-time data when attaching to a process. The .NET runtime does not provide any allocation notifications when attaching.

In a future version of .NET Memory Profiler we will include the option to show performance counters in the real-time graph as well. This will allow you to see get some real-time information when attaching, but this information is already available using the performance monitor in Windows.
