Nmpcore and profiling in production?

Post by jahandaniel » Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:10 pm

Hi

I am evaluating .net memory profiler and wanted to know how to profile a crash dump in production?

I have seen NmpCore and it says that the process has to be .net 4. What if the process is running under a different framework? I am not allowed to profile a normal crash dump?

Found a /register flag which is for other version of the .net Framework.

To profile Silverlight using .NET Memory Profiler, you need to use Silverlight 4 or later. The "/register" option is only needed when profiling a normal .NET application which uses .NET Framework prior to version 4.0.

As I mentioned in my reply to your other post, it is currently not possible to start Silverlight profiling using NmpCore, you need to use the full profiler.
