Waiting for .Net runtime to be loaded

Post by reddgreen » Wed Sep 19, 2018 4:50 pm

Hi,
Im on windows 10, visual studio 2017. Installed a demo version of the profiler. When I try to start a session, the dialog "Starting session, please wait" comes up and in the middle of the dialog, text "Waiting for .Net runtime to be loaded'" displays, but this never completes. I have tried a few times, and it sits there for half hour, so I stopped the load.
Anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks,

The "Waiting for .NET runtime to be loaded' message should disappear as soon as the profiler has detected any .NET runtime in the profiled process.

If a .NET runtime cannot be detected, then either the process has not loaded a runtime, there's a problem with the installation, or there's a problem/bug in the profiler.

What type of application are you profiling (standalone, ASP.NET, service)? Which .NET runtime/Framework is the application running under? Are you able to profiler any .NET process, e.g. a simple Windows Forms application?
